Rhythm in the Streets

Right foot, left foot, right then left --
First foot first, and last foot last.

Students walk to class --
Teachers do this too.
Tall and short, diverse types,
Walk together to produce
The rhythm in the streets.

Tip and Tap, feet on pavement
Pitter patter, like the rainstorm
Tick and tock, like my clock
Whish and Whosh, a pendulum
Oohs and Aahs, of delight

I pause my walk to listen --
To hear the walk of others
Our rhythm in the streets.
